Psychological assessment is a process that involves administration of different tests to explore a child or adults learning and social functioning. It is a process that allows us to better understand a person's strengths and differences in order to provide recommendations so they can achieve their full potential. At times, we may not understand why we struggle, and therapy may not be able to identify the underlying issue. That is when a psychological assessment may be beneficial.
Identifying strengths and differences should be a comprehensive approach, as it can greatly impact someone's life and should not be taken lightly. Therefore, we utilize a multi-step approach and advise against being assessed or diagnosed through just screeners or a short clinical interview.

Early identification and treatment are extremely important.

It can inhibit an individual from achieving based on difficulties with reasoning, problem solving, planning abstract thinking, judgment, academic learning, and learning from experience.
